⚠️ DEMO MODE — payments are simulated: nothing is ever charged.

Terms of service

Last updated: 19 August 2026

Oscura is published in demo mode: payments are simulated, no payment details are collected and no amount is charged. The commercial clauses below describe how the service will work once payments become real.

1. Who provides the service

Oscura is provided by Noelia Fabiana Conde, acting as an individual, reachable at sapienzaia2024@gmail.com. By using the service you accept these terms.

2. What Oscura is

Oscura is a web tool that helps you find and cover personal data inside PDF documents. Part of the work happens in your browser (reading the document, optical recognition, building the final PDF) and part on our servers (analysing the text with an AI model).

3. What it does and what it does not guarantee

Detection of personal data is automatic and is not guaranteed to be complete. An AI model can miss something, or flag something that is not personal data. Poor scan quality, handwriting and unusual layouts reduce reading accuracy further.

That is why the tool puts the full list of detections in front of you, lets you switch each one on and off, and lets you cover any area of the page by hand. The final check of the document before you hand it over is yours, and responsibility for the document you publish or deliver remains yours.

The service is not legal advice and is not a certification of compliance with the GDPR or any other regulation.

4. Artificial intelligence and human approval

The service uses an artificial intelligence model (Claude, by Anthropic) to propose which fragments of text are personal data. We state this openly because it changes how the tool should be used.

The model proposes; it does not decide. Before every download the service shows you the pages exactly as they will be saved and asks for an explicit confirmation. Until you confirm, no file is produced. It follows that:

We record that the approval took place (date, file name, page and redaction counts) and you will find it in your account area, so you can show when the check happened and on what. We keep nothing of the document's content.

5. How the redaction works (and what changes in the file)

The PDF you download does not contain a rectangle drawn over the original text: each page is rebuilt as an image with the black already burned in. The consequence, worth knowing before you use the file, is that the final document contains no selectable text: nothing can be copied, searched or extracted, not even the parts that were not redacted. The file is larger than the original, typically 2 to 5 times. On screen and in print it looks identical.

6. Accounts

An account is required to use the tool. You agree to give a valid email address, to keep your password safe and not to share access. You are responsible for what happens with your credentials. You can close your account at any time by writing to sapienzaia2024@gmail.com.

7. Credits and plans

8. Payments, renewal and cancellation

In the current demo mode no payment takes place. The conditions below apply from the moment payments become real.

First month free. The paid plans start with 30 free days. At the end of those 30 days the subscription continues and the plan price is charged automatically, and again every 30 days after that, unless you have cancelled first.

Cancelling takes one click, at any time, from your account area — no penalty, no phone call, no explanation required. Cancel during the first month and you pay nothing. Cancel later and the subscription stays active until the end of the period already paid for, then stops.

Your account area always shows the date of the next charge, and while you are in the free month we say so in plain words.

No refunds are given for periods already started, except where the law requires it. The free plan exists precisely so you can judge the service before paying for it.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the service to:

If these terms are breached we may suspend the account, telling you why.

10. Availability

We do our best to keep the service reachable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. The service depends on third parties (hosting and AI providers) that can have outages. If a paid plan suffers a long interruption, write to us and we will make it right in credits.

11. Liability

The service is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the amount you actually paid in the preceding 12 months — which, in demo mode, is zero. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that the law does not allow to be excluded, nor the rights the law gives consumers.

12. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced by email at least 30 days in advance. Italian law applies. For disputes with consumers, the courts of the consumer's place of residence remain competent.

13. Contact

For any question: sapienzaia2024@gmail.com.
